ABOUT THE MOVEMENTALITY METHOD

Learn to use your body as a tool for mental and physical recovery

Movementality is method built on focused attention and micro movements.

5–10 minutes of practice can help you ease muscular tension, feel more relaxed and regain mental clarity.

Learn to release tension in your back, neck and shoulders through small, intentional movements.

Each Movementality session has two main intentions: to give the brain a break and to release muscular tension

Movementality is about focused attention to sensations within the body. Because when we shift our attention from the outside world to the world inside of us, we give the brain a break from constant, task-focused processing.

Instead of constantly attending to what’s happening around us, we turn our attention inwards. This opens up a space where experiences can be processed, memories can integrate, and our brains can reciver from mental effort.

The result? You return to the outside world feeling refreshed, relaxed, and ready to focus again.

Micro movements: looking at your body through a magnifying glass. The distinctive movement technique of the method is micro movements, small intentional movements that requires concentrated attention.

When we make movements small enough, we can explore them without forcing. When we do, the nervous system perceive the movements as safe, and the muscles can gradually let go if their grip.

The result? a new sense of ease and spaciousness where there used to be stiffness and restriction of movement.

Why Movementality exists

Movementality was born out of a search for relief from back pain and neck tension. There I was, unable to turn my head, with a lower back that ached constantly. I spent years searching for an approach that would help: yoga, weightlifting, stretching, posture correction, various rehabilitation exercises… Each approach offered clues, but I never quite reached that state of ease that comes with having a body that functioned the way I wanted it to.

The search led me to study pain science and the many perspectives on lower back pain and its causes. I became increasingly aware of the connections between pain, muscular tension, and the mental states I carried: stress, anxiety, constant anticipation, always moving forward, never stopping just to be.

I also trained as a yoga teacher and began meditating regularly. Somewhere amid the chaos of life, I found a space where I could just exist. No fixing, no desperately trying to heal my back, no pushing through. In that space, I began experimenting with focusing deeply on the sensations within my body and allowing my body to guide me in where and how to move.

I discovered that when I made my movements extremely small, my muscles would release, almost magically. I began practising this technique every day. Not only did my pain subside, but my body also became supple and mobile. It was as if I were mending everything that was misaligned and unbalanced, bringing my body back into a state of ease that the forces of life had disturbed.

And I discovered something else: how relaxed and alert the practice made me feel. It was like an hour-long meditation compressed into a ten-minute session. Working on muscular tension is also working on the mental stuff, just like working on your mind will influence the physical stuff.

I began incorporating the method into my workshops on back pain and teaching it to my private students. Seeing the results they experienced, I realised I had developed a distinct method, one that deserved to reach far beyond the people I could work with individually. Thats how movementality was born, and now its here for you to experience and benefit from.
